Recently I had the privilege of attending the UK premiere of Rhino, a groundbreaking new eco-thriller that dives straight into the frontline of rhino conservation, with Loisaba Conservancy featured throughout. Inspired by films like Jurassic Park and Batman, this movie pushes wildlife storytelling into bold new territory. It is not just a documentary or a drama, it is something entirely new.

What stood out most was the film’s focus on people. Not only the iconic animals, but the teams on the ground who dedicate their lives to protecting them. This is exactly in line with Loisaba’s ethos, people are the key to successful conservation. In Rhino, the rangers and local communities are not background characters, they are the heart of the story. Through their experiences, the film places you right in the middle of Laikipia’s beauty and its daily challenges.

If anything, it will make you yearn for Kenya.

The storytelling is exceptional and the characters incredibly compelling. The emotional moments highlight just how hard everyone works to safeguard rhinos. Loisaba is one of the newest conservancies to take on this herculean task, and the film shows the scale of dedication that goes into this effort.

The experience is elevated even further by a powerful soundtrack and a dramatic voice-over from Tom Hardy. The combination of visuals, sound and narrative creates a cinematic style that conservation films rarely achieve.

If you are in the UK, I highly recommend finding a screening near you. Rhino is more than a movie. It is a reminder of what is at stake and a celebration of the people who refuse to give up.

Attending the UK premiere of Rhino sounds like an experience that really brings conservation to life. I loved that the film centers rangers and local communities, not just the iconic animals, and ties their daily challenges to the beauty of Laikipia. It’s the kind of storytelling that makes you care, not only admire—and it also reminded me how much impact a good word finder can have when you’re trying to capture those themes in a quick, thoughtful way.
