FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kenya Hosts the African Premiere of RHINO for World Rhino Day 2026

The Tom Hardy–narrated documentary screens in Nairobi on 26 September, uniting the rangers, Kenya Wildlife Service, conservancies and partners behind one of Africa’s defining conservation stories.

NAIROBI, KENYA — 2 September 2026: On 26 September, the African premiere of RHINO - a feature documentary directed by Tom Martienssen and narrated by Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy - arrives at the Trademark Hotel in Nairobi as Kenya’s flagship celebration of World Rhino Day 2026.

RHINO goes to the frontline of the fight to save one of the planet’s most threatened species, following the rangers, veterinarians and communities who stand between the rhino and extinction. It is a story of resilience and results - and a rare chance to see, on screen, the people whose work usually goes unseen.

Kenya is a global leader in rhino conservation, anchored by the Kenya Wildlife Service's decades of stewardship. This position has been built through partnership with rangers, conservancies, communities, veterinarians, researchers, and conservation organisations working as one. Every rhino alive in Kenya today is the outcome of that collaboration.

The premiere is organised by Loisaba Conservancy, with lead sponsorship from Elewana Collection, Borana Conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Trademark Hotel, Dry Associates, Tusk Trust and the Pankaj Foundation. They are joined by the Kenya Wildlife Service and partners including Il Ngwesi, Solio, Sera Conservancy, Save the Rhino, Rhino Ark, the International Ranger Federation, Game Rangers Association and Big Life Foundation - a coalition that spans the length of Kenya’s rhino landscape.

The premiere will be led by Guest of Honour, Professor Erustus Kanga, Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service. The evening will be hosted by broadcaster TerryAnne Chebet, with a live performance from Kenyan artist Moso Pal, a silent auction - including a two-night stay for two at Loisaba Lodo Springs, courtesy of Elewana Collection - and a curated showcase of Kenyan makers and vendors.

“Kenya has an extraordinary rhino conservation story to tell. This event is a chance to celebrate the people behind that success - and to remind the world that conservation works when we come together.”

— Tom Silvester, Chief Executive Officer, Loisaba Conservancy

As the world marks World Rhino Day, the African premiere of RHINO is both a celebration of what has been achieved and a call to protect what remains. Tickets are on sale now through Mookh.com and are selling fast.

PARTNER & SPONSOR QUOTES

For editorial use. Quotes may be attributed as shown below.

KENYA WILDLIFE SERVICE

Kenya’s rhino story has moved from survival to recovery. Our task now is to turn that recovery into lasting growth while ensuring that conservation contributes to sustainable development. The success at Loisaba shows what is possible when we secure habitats, grow wildlife populations, empower communities and harness partnerships, science and innovation. The next chapter is clear: more space for rhinos, thriving ecosystems, stronger communities and a sustainable wildlife economy for generations to come.

— Prof. Erustus Kanga, Director General, Kenya Wildlife Service

BORANA CONSERVANCY

The bush craft skills of men and women that monitor our rhinos on a daily basis are

extraordinary. During the filming of RHINO our Borana monitoring team led by Kiloko were able to help the film makers to document black rhino behaviour in the wild, most often on foot. The penultimate shot, a first we believe, was filming a black rhino, Ren Suen, giving birth to a female calf.

— Michael Dyer, Managing Director and Founding Partner, Borana Conservancy

OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

Kenya’s rhino conservation success has been hard won and requires continued commitment, investment and vigilance. RHINO helps bring that reality to life, and Ol Pejeta is proud to support a film that celebrates the people protecting this iconic species and inspires continued action for its future.

— Ken Kimani, Director Corporate Affairs, Ol Pejeta Conservancy

LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY

“Behind every rhino that survives, every population that recovers and every landscape that remains protected are people who show up every day, often far from the spotlight and without recognition. It takes discipline to protect landscapes, to commit to invest in communities, and to have the ambition to keep asking what more conservation can achieve. This film gives us an opportunity to honour a truth we see every day at Lewa.”

— Rob Macaire, Chief Executive Officer, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

ELEWANA COLLECTION

Our guests at Loisaba get to see, firsthand, what rhino conservation actually looks like: the rangers, the patience, the results. This premiere carries that same story further, to people we hope to welcome as guests one day."

— Kieran Day, Chief Operating Officer, Elewana Collection

TRADEMARK HOTEL

At Trademark Hotel, we believe hospitality is about bringing people together around experiences and conversations that matter. As a proud partner of the African premiere of RHINO, we are honoured to bring Kenya’s rangers, conservancies and conservation partners together under one roof to celebrate the people behind our remarkable conservation journey. This is exactly the kind of moment we want Trademark to stand for; one that goes beyond hospitality and helps protect what makes this country extraordinary.”

— Eva Mwangi, Head of Sales & Marketing, Tribe Collection (Trademark Hotel)

DRY ASSOCIATES

“Conservation is an investment in the future. Dry Associates is proud to support RHINO and the people who have made Kenya’s rhino conservation story such a success. Their commitment to protecting these animals, their habitats and the communities around them is something we are very pleased to stand behind.” Spence Dry, General Manager, Dry Associates Investment Bank”

space waves's speed is kept interesting and dynamic by this variety. Because they never know what type of move the next region would require, players must always be on guard.
